The 2 Recommended Ice Cream Shops and My Favorite Scoops!

Welcome all ice cream lovers to my blog! I'm back with some exciting reviews. Before we dive in, let me ask you a question: Are you tired of the same old plain ice cream flavors? If yes, then you're in for a treat. Follow my recommendations to these amazing shops, and get ready to explore a world of new and unique ice cream flavors. If you're eager to get started, let's head to the first shop together.

1.Guss Damn Good

Brief Background Story: Guss Damn Good is an ice cream shop that started in 2014 by a Thai person who really loves ice cream. She got the idea when she was in Boston, where she was surprised to find ice cream without any toppings that still tasted delicious. So, she decided to try making her own ice cream using a small ice cream maker in her apartment.

When she returned to Thailand, she wanted to open her own ice cream shop, even though she didn't have much knowledge about it at that time. She worked hard on developing her ice cream recipe, trying it many times until she got the right one. At first, she sold her ice cream at her friend's booth during an event. Later, she started selling it at Kappadeli and made her debut at Sansiri's Winter Market Fest. A year later, she finally opened her first shop in Saladaeng.

Today, Guss Damn Good has three partners who run the business. All of their ice cream flavors have unique stories and names. For instance, their very first flavor was called "Don't Give Up #18." This name means that it was her 18th attempt at making this ice cream, and she didn't give up until she got it just right. Another flavor is named "Why Can't Coffee Be White?" This comes from her love for coffee ice cream. She tried with many recipes until she finally made one where the ice cream didn't turn out brown, but it still had a great coffee flavor.

Me and Guss Damn Good: I discovered Guss Damn Good when I was studying at Samyan Mitrtown. This branch is a smaller version of the brand, and it doesn't have any seats to sit. I was walking by the shop and noticed they had many flavors with interesting names. So, I decided to step inside and ask for a taste. If I remember correctly, the first flavor I tried became my all-time favorite.

But here's the thing: Guss changes the flavors they offer every day. So, if you want to have the same flavor again the next day, there's no guarantee it will be available. After trying it that day, it took me a while to come back for more. When I returned the second time, they didn't have my favorite flavor because they feature a special flavor recommendation each day. So, I had to try another flavor, and I found there was no other flavor I liked as much as my favorite.

I didn't go to Samyan Mitrtown very often after I finished my tutorial class because it's far from my home. However, I was in luck. Guss Damn Good finally opened a branch at a department store near my home, so I can eat it more often now.

My Favorite Scoop: They call it "B Cube" - it's brown sugar and brown butter ice cream mixed with brownies. The creamy ice cream and chewy brownies are a perfect combo. I really love this flavor. You must give it a try!

2.Molto

Brief Background Story: Molto opened during the COVID-19 pandemic by a Thai ice cream maker who used to supply ice cream to hotels and restaurants. He faced then problem because when the pandemic started in 2020, all his business stopped, and his income dropped from 100% to just 3%. But he couldn't stop his business because he had fixed costs, a factory, and staff to take care of.

So, he came up with an idea to start an online ice cream shop. At first, he didn't know much about how to do online marketing. He asked his friend and tried a lot. Selling ice cream online seemed difficult and almost impossible, but he didn't give up. It turned out to be worth it because Molto became very popular, even though customers couldn't taste the ice cream before buying.

Initially, he sold only large portions for families, which were a bit expensive. But as the pandemic situation improved, he started opening pop-up stores in department stores all over the country. Molto's ice cream became extremely popular because it's delicious, the scoops are large, and it's worth the price.

Molto offers more than 100 flavors to choose from. The owner believes that among all the flavors, it must have at least one flavor that pleases the customers Moreover, Molto frequently collaborates with various brands to create unique and exciting flavors. It's pretty cool!

Me and Molto: I found Molto by chance when they set up a pop-up store in the department store near my home. The first flavor I tried was "Strawberry Cheesecake," and it instantly became my favorite. After that, I enjoyed Molto's ice cream a lot because their ice cream has a great texture, and they give us a big scoop. Moreover, before we decide what flavor should we choose, we can request for taste the flavors. Wherever I go, I seem to spot a Molto pop-up store. They've expanded to many department stores, which is awesome because their customers are everywhere. It's easy for customers to find and try Molto.

My Favorite Scoops: For Molto, I'm really into two of their flavors. The first one is "Strawberry Cheesecake" which I tried for the first time. The sourness of the strawberry sauce mixes nicely with the sweetness of the ice cream, making it not greasy while eating. And guess what? They added crumbles to this flavor. These crumbles are everywhere in the ice cream, and they're pretty big. So, when you're enjoying this flavor, you'll be crunching on crumbles with every bite.

Apart from the "Strawberry Cheesecake" flavor, I didn't really like any other flavors until this month. So, I decided to visit Molto's pop-up store to check out their current flavors. That's when I spotted one that caught my eye – it's called "Original Horlicks". You know what? I'm a huge fan of Horlicks, so why wouldn't I give it a try, right? Well, after tasting it, I can say it's definitely my another favorite one.
